Solitaire Namibia

Solitaire is a small settlement in the Khomas Region of central Namibia, near Namib-Naukluft National Park. It has the only gas station, bakery, café, and general store between the dunes at Sossusvlei and the coast at Walvis Bay, as well as on the route to the capital, Windhoek. Solitaire is part of the Windhoek Rural electoral constituency. The town is known in the Netherlands because of the book “Solitaire” by Dutch author Ton van der Lee, which describes his stay there.
